Santa Rosa Plaza (the downtown mall) wants to tear up the pedestrian space in front of the mall (where the hand statue once stood) and replace it with more parking. This misguided and unnecessary plan would widen the divide between Railroad Square and Courthouse Square, add more pollution and noise downtown, and is contrary to virtually every city growth, vibrancy, and climate initiative. Tell the Santa Rosa Design Review and Preservation Board that you want the downtown divide bridged, not widened, and the idea that Santa Rosa Plaza, with it's gargantuan parking garage, needs even more space for cars is preposterous.
